Naked (Bottomless) Portafilter / Group Handle

The naked portafilter is often used as a training tool. It allows you to monitor the flow of coffee to see whether you are over/under extracting and also can aid in getting a more even tamp. It is basically a portafilter (grouphandle) with the bottom cut out.

Other benefits are:
1. It allows more space between the drip tray and handle - allowing for taller cups/mugs.
2. It allows the operator to get a better look at the extraction so adjustments can be made if necessary to improve coffee shots
3. It allows you to use a deeper filter basket (i.e 21 grams) that often doesn't fit in your standard group handle. 

This naked portaflter fits E-61 style group heads and many commercial sized group heads such as the Rancilio Silvia, La Cimbali, Wega etc.
